System Error Patch is a system extension designed to let you override system errors. If a system error is encountered while System Error Patch is in RAM, you'll now get three beeps, and then the current application will quit.
To use System Error Patch, just plop it in your System Folder and Restart! (At startup, you can override System Error Patch being loaded by holding down the mouse button).
System Error Patch is now compatible with all System versions.
System Error Patch now includes both System Error Patch 1.0 and System Error Patch 1.1. 1.1, as described above, beeps. 1.0 was the one which displayed the dialog box. 1.0 was quite buggy, (refer to history at bottom), and was trashed. But we decided to bring it back, just in case someone wanted it! But don't let this go to your head. One System Error Patch at a time is good enough. Get my drift? ;>
If enough people pay the shareware fee for this version, we may release a newer version that records the time and date of the error, along with the ID number, and how to fix it. Heck! We may make an entire online error-debuger! PAY THE SHAREWARE FEE!!! :)

If you wish to distribute System Error Patch, please write to the address, (postal or email), above for permission. Please remember to state the date(s) you plan to distribute on, and if the distributing party is a Macintosh User's Group. So far we haven't turned anyone down for distribution rights, so no need to worry.
The source code to System Error Patch is available to users who have payed the shareware fee for $5. Send your money along with a shareware fee, and you will recieve the C source code to the newest version, along with the THINK C project and resource files.
11/22/93: SEP project started. We are encountering problems with dialogs. After the INIT has loaded, the resource fork goes away, and this is causing hell.
12/01/93: Alpha release. SEP altered so that it doesn't have to worry about dialog boxes. Beep only. System 6 and 7 compatible.
12/10/93: 1.0 release. SEP altered so that it uses dialogs, but now we are unsure of it's compatibility with System 6, so we can't give a yes/no. Special thanx to Anders Wahlin for some solutions to the dialog problems.
1/28/94: 1.1 release. We found that attempting to load a dialog box during a system error can sometimes cause problems, so we went back to the original plan of beeping three times. If you would like to try your luck with version 1.0, (the one that shows a dialog box), just pay the shareware fee and include a disk, and we'll send it to you.
3/13/94: Second 1.1 release. Instead of just one patch, we are now including two! Two for the price of one!
